Why VastIntentions.com?

As my wife will tell you, I don't always hear the correct words to songs. Most of the time I am close enough to the actual words where it doesn't make a big difference. Sometimes I just prefer to make up the words as I go along.

My favorite artist is Dave Matthews and one day while listening to his CD (yes, a CD, Ipods weren't around) a few years ago, I thought he said "...vast intentions" in his song "Two Step". I thought it was a cool phrase and I especially liked it because it kind of summed up my goals, as they were "vast".  My wife also has a variety of goals so it turned out to be a great website for the family.

The actual words were "...best intentions", but my interpretation was not bad.

My Quest to Sell Hats

Periodically I may list projects, ideas, goals on this page, but it is unlikely I will keep it updated. For now, in addition to building a mortgage company, vacation rental sites (with Nathaniel as the guy actually running everything), and the mortgage company, I have been accepted as a mentor for the Clinton Foundation. I have been matched with a Hat company in Harlem. My quest is to help Evetta expand her hat empire online. She has high quality hats including a line of Red Hats (for the Red Hat Society ladies). So if you are in need of a great hat, check out her site. And if you have ideas on how she can expand her sales, let me know. At least I know I don't have all of the answers and appreciate help wherever I can get it.

Angel Investing

The best part about running a company is getting it started. I love thinking of ways to get a company going and then to get it growing.  That is one reason my brother and I have started such a wide variety of companies over the years.  However, the operations side of running a company  obviously takes A LOT of work. I also don't think that it is a strength either of us have. So we started looking into Angel Investing. It is a great way to help provide advice and ideas to small and growing companies while not requiring the daily work related to operations. It is also way to get equity in companies that have large growth potential, so we have joined a couple of Angel Networks (one in Columbia and one in Kansas City). I am also starting an Angel Investment Blog.
